Meet Our Stars: Volunteers of North Cypress Medical Center
Carol and Wayne Templeton
Carol and Wayne Templeton were the very first two volunteers at North Cypress Medical Center. After retirement, Carol and Wayne began volunteering for a local hospital in Houston. When word that North Cypress was beginning a Volunteer Program, the Templetons quickly applied and began as volunteer #1 and #2 on January 7, 2007. Carol volunteers at the hospital front desk and enjoys helping patients and visitors throughout the hospital. Wayne volunteers in the Emergency Room, helping and assisting the nurses throughout their shift. They have been happily married for 23 years with 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Carol Carlson
Carol and her husband, Jack, moved to Houston in 1985. She was a teacher for 25 years before she began volunteering in 2006. Her husband was one of the first patients admitted in North Cypress ICU and she was so impressed with the hospital's level of care, she decided to join the volunteer team. North Cypress holds a special place in Carol's heart because the hospital staff took such great care of her husband until his death in 2009. Carol tells us, "I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2009 and North Cypress took as good care of me as they did my Jack. I will never be able to give back what I have been given by this hospital." North Cypress is honored to have Carol as a member of our Volunteer team and appreciate every second of her time donated to bettering our hospital.
Sandy Ferguson

Sandy has been a volunteer for 6 years, beginning in January of 2006. Sandy raised her family in Houston and moved to Hempstead in 1992. Her family purchased acreage and continued their passion for breeding and raising cutting horses. When the hospital opened in 2006, Sandy wanted to become a volunteer at North Cypress to give back to the community. She chose North Cypress because it was a beautiful, brand new hospital close to her home. Sandy says, "I have really loved my volunteer experience at North Cypress. It is so rewarding to know that I can put a smile on someone's face and help make their hospital experience the very best for them." Sandy usually volunteers at the front desk and loves to greet visitors, patients and help answer questions about the hospital. North Cypress is blessed to have such a bright, cheerful volunteer as Sandy!
