Cardiac rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary medically supervised program that provides individualized exercise, education, and support for lifestyle modification for people with heart problems. The program is overseen by highly trained/ACLS certified healthcare professionals under the direction of a physician. A physician referral is required for participation.
Who needs Cardiac Rehabilitation?
People who are recovering from a heart attack, heart bypass surgery, angioplasty, heart valve surgery, heart transplant, and those with stable angina, should be part of a cardiac rehabilitation program. Also, anyone at risk for developing coronary artery disease may benefit from a team approach to education and exercise.
North Cypress Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Center has been nationally recognized by the AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) as an accredited Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center. This certification recognizes the program's high standards of care, making the North Cypress Cardiac Rehabilitation Center the only certified program in the area.
