Volunteering provides you the chance to make new friends, contribute to the community, and feel good about yourself- all at the same time. North Cypress volunteers receive a free cafeteria lunch on the days they work, and free annual flu shot. Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in several hospital events during the year. Please download a Volunteer Application or pick one up at the main hospital front desk and you will be contacted for an interview.

Once complete, you may submit the application by bringing to the hospital front lobby desk, faxing to 832-912-3838, or emailing to Glenda Salter, Volunteer Coordinator, at Glenda.Salter@ncmc-hospital.com.

All applications will be reviewed and only applicants who are being considered for our program will be contacted and scheduled for an interview. Upon acceptance to the volunteer program, All volunteers must be willing to provide a current shot record, submit to an annual flu shot and TB testing, along with an initial drug screen and background check.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are very grateful to the very special people that serve as our hospital volunteers. They provide a variety of services and help many departments. Some provide patient and visitor assistance and many work behind the scenes providing clerical support. Below is a listing of available volunteer positions. Days and hours vary by department:

  • Surgery Waiting Area - Some "Early Bird" shifts available
*** Retail Pharmacy Gift Shop Volunteer (Prof. Bldg 2) - Duties would include greeting customers, assisting with product selection, assisting with displays, etc. - this is a NON PAID position      Any day Mon - Fri. ***Ministerial Volunteer - Position is responsible providing religious and spiritual services to patients, families and staff through counseling.   Previous pastoral experience needed.   Must be able to minister in a non-denominational capacity and demonstrate a compassionate and caring demeanor.   Must be able to meet with and minister to all religions and ethnicities.   May select specific day(s) to visit hospital but would also need to be available on a PRN basis.   MUST provide references.                                                         
  • Qualifications for Hospital Volunteers:

    To serve as a hospital volunteer, we ask that applicants be 18 or older and commit to an assignment of at least once a week for a four hour block of time.   Shift times are 9am - 1pm and 1pm - 5pm, Monday-Friday.
